The Trenton Rotary Club will once again be hosting students from the Rotary Club of Omiya Japan this summer. There will be 2 girls and 1 boy arriving on Friday afternoon, July 27, at Newark airport. They will return home on Wednesday morning, August 8th. We will need Rotarians to house them during their stay. We will also need activity hosts to take them on activities during the day. They will be here for a total of 12 nights. The Omiya student’s English language skills have been very good on past visits.
It is always best if all 3 students can be housed at one home for a period of 3 to 4 days. The plan is for the activity hosts to pick up and drop off the students from the housing hosts each day. It would be ideal if 2 Rotarians could participate in each outing with the students. We will be provided with a list of suggested activities they would enjoy during their stay.
They are tentatively scheduled to meet all of us at our club luncheon on Thursday August 2nd. Bill Sheehy has graciously offered to host a farewell BBQ at his home the night before his departure, Tuesday August 7th. Please save the date!
We are very excited to be given this opportunity to continue to promote cross cultural fellowship with our sister club in Omiya Japan. This is the 49th year for this student exchange. Please join us in this enormously enjoyable Trenton Rotary activity by volunteering your time to engage with these students from Japan.
